Six Pack Shortcuts Review

Six Pack Shortcuts ReviewGetting six pack abs isn’t easy. Nobody knows that better than Mike Chang, who has developed a comprehensive ab training program that will help you finally achieve the six pack that you deserve.

Put simply, very few people know what they’re doing when they try to get six pack abs. I admit that, after viewing the material in Six Pack Shortcuts, I was disappointed in my own personal knowledge of the topic. Throughout the series of videos, Chang explains what most people are doing wrong, as well as the surprisingly effective shortcut that he and hundreds of his clients have utilized in order to tone their core.

So What’s the Shortcut?

Surprisingly, the number of calories that your body burns during a workout is not nearly as important as the number you burn afterwards. As your body heals itself over the next 48 hours, it requires a substantial amount of calories. Essentially, this is ‘the secret’ or the ‘shortcut’ to which Mike Chang is referring. Known in the scientific and bodybuilding community as the ‘afterburn’, taking advantage of this post-workout calorie burning spree by your body is an incredibly effective way to lose fat.

But how do you trigger this afterburn effect? By doing high-intensity cardio paired with moderate weight training, even the most average gym users can effectively enhance the strength and visibility of their ab muscles. In fact, many of the workouts that Chang demonstrates do not even require specialized equipment, meaning that you can do them from the comfort of your own home.

In fact, the afterburn effect is so powerful that Chang puts very little focus on diet and exercise. Instead, he has tried to cater the program to people who may not put a lot of time into their diet already, like busy young adults. In that sense, it’s a series of no-nonsense videos about losing weight around your belly, and doing so in a way that also strengthens your core.

Presentation Value

If you’re the kind of person who quickly gets tired of reading through pages of content on your PC, then it is important to note that Six Pack Shortcuts comes in several entertaining and informative videos. The presentation value is superb, and the videos can be accessed from anywhere that you have internet. Or, you can even put them on your iPod to play at the gym.

In these videos, Mike Chang describes the specific ab, weight, and cardio exercises that you can collectively use to define your core. Since I’m one of those people who will sometimes look at a picture-by-picture instruction manual of a workout, only to get confused and do it wrong, I found these videos especially helpful. Chang’s approach is straightforward, and is done in a way that appeals to viewers of all skill levels. Since Chang is a certified personal trainer, it’s clear that he has nailed down the way to treat clients respectfully, while still pushing you to achieve that next level.

A Specific Approach

Mike Chang, Creator of Six Pack Shortcuts

How many of you have read exercise advice only to give up in frustration once you realize how many things you need to keep track of, or how many aspects of your life that you need to change? If, like many people, you find the advice that exercise books offer is far too generalized and broad to be of any real value, then Mike Chang has developed the approach for you.

Instead of implementing twelve, twenty, or two hundred sweeping lifestyle changes, Six Pack Shortcuts is far more straightforward. Each lesson contains two key habits that, when implemented, will give you the six pack abs that you have always dreamed of. Even the most dedicated bodybuilder can get bogged down in ‘analysis paralysis’, which will ultimately prevent you from hitting any of your targets. If you feel that this might be a problem for you, it’s important to choose advice that is specifically catered to you and your routine.

The Common Mistakes

I was surprised to note exactly how ineffective some common exercises were at burning fat – and keeping it off. For example, running on the treadmill or the elliptical for a long period of medium-intensity cardio barely generates any afterburn effect. In fact, it may hinder your growth of six pack abs by giving the illusion of calorie burning.

For example, if you jump on the treadmill for an hour and burn four hundred calories, then you may feel like you are allowed to eat more than you would if you ran on the treadmill for twenty minutes and burned three hundred calories. However, due to the afterburn effect, you will actually burn more calories in the long run.

What Six Pack Shortcuts Doesn’t Include

If you’re looking for a comprehensive book about diet and exercise, then Six Pack Shortcuts isn’t it. Mike Chang is not a nutritionist, and will not be able to offer any radical new information that other diet and exercise books don’t cover.

At this price range, we expected a little bit more out of Six Pack Shortcuts. However, since the product is specifically designed for those who want to get six pack abs, we can’t really complain about this feature. As a manual that shows you exactly how to get six pack abs, it includes basically everything you need to know.

Author Qualifications

On the sales page, Mike Chang makes a big deal about his certification as an ISSA trainer. If you’re like most people, then you have probably never heard of the ISSA. Basically, the International Sports Sciences Association is an online trainer certification program that expedites the personal trainer learning process. While the information that it offers is undoubtedly valuable, it is not as strict of a program as a verifiable degree in nutrition, physiology, or sports sciences.

While Mike Chang offers valuable information throughout Six Pack Shortcuts, it’s important to note that this information is not necessarily qualified advice. For that reason, his sales page features a large disclaimer that absolves him of any legal responsibility. While I can’t comment on how difficult the ISSA’s fitness trainer certification course is, I’ll leave that up to Mike’s customers to decide.

Six Pack Shortcuts Summary

It’s simple: if you follow this program perfectly, you will swiftly have six pack abs. However, Mike Chang’s approach is far from radical. By doing intense cardio and a moderate, high-rep weight training routine, you will most definitely be in better shape than when you started.

However, if you are interested in utilizing the afterburn effect to its full advantage, then you need to learn more about it. For those people who are interested in the effect, Six Pack Shortcuts offers one of the most comprehensive descriptions of it, with a major focus on the importance it can have on your bodybuilding routine.

Put simply, the afterburn technique is a powerful tool no matter which area of your body you want to target – whether it’s the abs, butt, or thighs – and one of the best, most effective methods of weight loss in the world. If that sounds like something you’re interested in, then Six Pack Shortcuts is certainly worth the price of admission.
